Tony Vallés

Director of Communications
Tony, a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Princeton University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Italian Literature and Language and a Certificate from the Program in Theater and Dance. He received the William Koren Memorial Prize as the most outstanding student in Italian. For his Princeton senior thesis as an Italian major, Tony wrote, directed, and produced an operatic staging of Claudio Monteverdi's madrigals. The result was called Lirica, and featured singers, dancers, actors, and musicians performing shepherds' tales in a period setting. Tony has previously worked with the Metropolitain Opera and the New York City Opera in full-time, seasonal positions as head of their rehearsal departments. He has performed with S.E.A. (The Society for Educational Arts), helping to bring bi-lingual arts education into New York City public and parochial schools. During 1997, Tony returned to San Juan and spent a year working as a Production Assistant with People Television, Inc.- where he oversaw work on all current projects, performing roles such as Production Coordinator for a Christmas television special, Assistant to the Producer for a theatrical comedy revival, singer with an a cappella quintet, (with whom he has recorded and recently released a CD), and Sales and Marketing Assistant for a collection of educational videos. At the same time, Tony became involved in several opera productions: as Assistant Stage Manager for La Traviata, as Props Manager for the Spanish operetta La cancion del olvido, and as a member of the chorus in Carmen. He also produced and coordinated the Princeton University Glee Club's tour of Puerto Rico in May of 1998. Tony's technical expertise was also put to the test during the Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto, Italy, where he conducted research for his thesis during the summer of 1996.

Peter Mills

Resident Writer/Music Director
A lyricist and composer, Peter holds an M.F.A. in Musical Theater Writing from New York University's Tisch School for the Arts. The Flood was selected for the 2001 ASCAP Musical Theater Workshop and critiqued by panelists Stephen Schwartz and Stephen Sondheim. Marco Polo, his NYU thesis musical with composer Deborah Abramson, was chosen for the 2000 ASCAP Workshop and critiqued by those same two guys. Also, Peter and Ms. Abramson were chosen as 2000-01 Dramatists Guild Fellows. Past music directing credits: The News In Revue; the first New York revival of Stephen Sondheim's Assassins, produced by the Gallery Players; and the Assistant Musical Director for Surflight Summer Theater 1996. Peter is a member of ASCAP and an associate member of The Dramatists Guild.

Jaime Vallés

Graphic Designer
Jaime is a man of graphics—not words. However, since you're interested... He is a graduate of Cornell University as a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and spent most of his free time acting and singing in student-run shows. Right after graduating, Jaime spent the summers of '99 and 2000 with Prospect in Rome, Georgia, where he played Jaques in As You Like It, Samuel in The Pirates of Penzance, Kodaly in She Loves Me, Carl-Magnus in A Little Night Music, and Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Other prospect roles include Zach in The Taxi Cabaret at the Berkshire Theater Festival, as well as ensemble roles in The Flood, and the reading of Marco Polo at ASCAP. Currently, Jaime is a chorus member in the New York City Opera productions The Flying Dutchman, The Capulets and the Montagues, and Turandot. As far as graphic design goes, he designed the posters and logos of pretty much all the above mentioned productions (except the New York City Opera shows, of course). Jaime is very excited and looking forward to designing publicity for and participating in the upcoming Prospect season in New York.
